- A Vermont woman who conquered Kilimanjaro to 300 pounds. will be featured in a new movie. Kara Richardson Whitely started hiking when she lived in South Burlington. At 360 pounds she decided to make some changes so she took the hiking trail, climbing Camel hump and Mount Mansfield. Now, Richardson Whitely memory, “Gorge: my trip to Kilimanjaro at 300 pounds” is in the process of being made into a film produced by and starring “It’s us” actress Chrissy Metz. (WCAX)
- The Vermont Symphony Orchestra The “Master Clef” competition for aspiring middle and high school composers officially ended on Friday evening. The finalists went to Burlington City Hall and shared their music with an award-winning composer Souad Bushnaq. At the end of the evening, Bushnaq awarded two finalists and a winner, Chase Ehrlich, violinist of Montpellier high school. (WCAX)
