Lorraine: Kate Middleton set for huge promotion says Myers

Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline and niece of Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, wowed celebrities and fashion gurus alike as she rode the Chanel catwalk at the ongoing show in France . Charlotte officially opened the high-end brand’s Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture show by walking down the catwalk.

The royal, who is Chanel’s ambassador, sported dramatic winged eyeliner and her hair up in a tight bun.

Dressed in a black helmet and gloves, matching trousers and a black tweed jacket, the royal left stunned many of the celebrities present at the parade at the Grand Palais Ephémère.

Among the stars who witnessed the explosive entrance in person were American Vogue editor Anna Wintour, rapper Pharrell Williams and actress Margot Robbie.

Charlotte is the granddaughter of Hollywood star and late Monegasque princess Grace Kelly.

Although she is 11th in line to the Monegasque throne, she is a private citizen who does not perform official duties for the principality.

However, alongside her mother and her two brothers Andrea and Pierre, she sometimes takes part in key events such as the national holiday, which falls on November 19 every year.

Charlotte, 35, is not the first royal to step onto the catwalk.

In 2002, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge took part in a fashion show while a student at St Andrews University.

The current Duchess, who at the time was studying art history, donned a sheer lace dress for the show, intended to raise money for charity.

Prince William, also a university student at the time, reportedly spent £200 on a ticket to watch the fashion show from the front row.

The dress worn by the future Duchess was later sold for a whopping £78,000.

Although Kate did not pursue a career in fashion, other members of the House of Windsor have since walked the runway.

Another model linked to the Windsors is Lady Kitty Spencer, Princess Diana’s niece.

Kitty, the eldest child of Charles Spencer, is the spokesperson for jewelry brand Bulgari and fashion company Dolce & Gabbana.

The seventh in line to the Danish throne, Prince Nikolai, has also made a name for himself in the fashion world.

The 22-year-old grandson of Queen Margrethe II began modeling at the age of 18 and made his runway debut in February 2018 at the Burberry show at London Fashion Week.
